Guatemala Project

Project Scope
​

La Esperanza
- Total population +250 people
- About 75 families
- 29 school children
- About a 2 hour drive from Guatemala City
​- Community expected to grow to 500 people in the coming years


The municipality, San Martin Jilotepeque, will be drilling a well to supply water to 4 surrounding communities. They will also purchase and install electric pumps.
​- 
EWB-UTSA will help build the distribution system, construct catchment tanks, and install household taps for 1 of the 4 communities (La Esperanza)
- Other EWB student chapters have adopted the surrounding communities
- This will improve quality of life in the community
